Vintage Geometric David Whitehead Curtain
Vintage Geometric David Whitehead Curtain
£135.00This single midcentury curtain in a bold geometric pattern of greens, yellows and black, was designed for legendary British textile manufacturers David Whitehead in the 1950s. The bold midcentury design captures the energy of the post-war period, and is a great example of the graphic design revolution that took place in the UK following the Festival of Britain in 1951
Made from a cotton barkcloth and lined in beige cotton, the piece measures 112cm x 170cm and is in good vintage condition. There is some overall fade due to age, a very faint small mark to the front and a small stain to the reverse lining (as shown in the accompanying photographs), but nothing to detract overall from the design.
A true piece of design heritage.
